Stampin' Up Clearly for You

I've been wanting to create a card using Clearly for You.  It has so many wonderful little images.  I decided to make a card using inchies so that I could showcase the different elements.

Tuesday Throwdown #64

Happy Tuesday! This week at Tuesday Throwdown, our challenge is a punny sentiment.  We used images from Digis with Attitude.

I had some monkey paper from Recollections and I cut out the words "no monkey business" for the front.  Inside it says, "it's your birthday."

Lasting Memories 53

Hopefully this will post, as I am in Hurricane Irene's path and I expect to be without power for at least a day or two.

My DT term is up and this is my last challenge at Lasting Memories.  I am really sad to go, but hopefully I will play along as much as possible in the coming months.  I've had so much fun the past 8 months!  A special thanks to Karen, our amazing DT leader!

This week at Lasting Memories, our challenge is "who/what inspires you."  This was easy for me.  My husband is such an inspiration to me because of his military service.   He's spent several years overseas in Germany and Afghanistan.  He is not longer on active duty, but he is still a member of the National Guard.  Yesterday, he was deployed to assist in PA's hurricane relief.

This layout is of my husband's return from Germany at the end of his 4 years of active duty.  I was so happy to have him home.  We moved in together and were married a few months later.  All of these photos were taken at the airport.  I wore a shirt, given to me by a friend, that said "I {heart} my soldier."

Lasting Memories 52

This week at Lasting Memories, our challenge is "what's your secret." You have to put something hidden on your layout. Can you find mine?

This is a layout of our 24th birthdays.  I say "our" because my husband and I are 10 days apart (we were even baptized on the same day, in the same church!).  We celebrate our birthdays together usually.  For our 24th, since we were on our honeymoon for Mike's birthday, we celebrated both birthdays on my birthdate.

Here's my tag hidden behind the photo: (And I just love these Stampin' Up number candle stamps!

Tuesday Throwdown #62

Happy Tuesday! This week at Tuesday Throwdown, our challenge is non-stamped sentiments. I chose to use a Martha Stewart punch to create my sentiment. Our sponsor is McMahon 5 Designs, and I chose this adorable turtle image.

Lasting Memories 51

This week at Lasting Memories, our challenge is to try something new.  I was at a scrapbook convention a few weeks ago and got lots of new stuff, so this was a great time to test it out!

I bought some divine twine and couldn't wait to try it out!  I've seen people use it to create flowers, lollipops, and lots of other things.

Stampin Up Birds

Ok, so I have a slight obsession with birds. Any birds, but peacocks in particular. They are all over my home decor.  And I tend to buy stamp sets with birds.  I guess it runs in the family though, my grandfather is a bird watcher.  His 93rd birthday is coming up, so I made this card for him.

Lasting Memories 50

This week at Lasting Memories, our challenge is a sketch with a twist. You must use the sketch plus buttons on your layout.
