But First Let's Take a Selfie - Disney Layout

In January, I went to visit my BFF, who lives in LA.  We went to Disneyland and it was SO much fun!  I plan to make a scrapbook of our photos from that day.  So be prepared for LOTS of Disney layouts in the next couple months!

We went to California Adventure Park first and we went to the Cars Radiator Springs Racers for our first ride of the day.  The second we got there, we took a selfie, so this title was perfect.  Incidentally, this week at Lasting Memories Layout Challenge, they want us to be inspired by a song from the current era.  "First let me take a selfie" certainly inspired this layout.  Lasting Memories featured my 3 layouts from the past 3 April challenges for this post and I was so excited!

At Challenge YOUrself, the theme is "this one's for the girls" and you have to include a photo of yourself.  This was a girls trip to Disneyland and it's a selfie, so I think this counts.

I used sketch 194 from Sketches in Thyme.  My layout was also featured on that post - I'm honored!

Here's my take:

St. Patty's Day Layout

The challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge is to use the work "Lucky" on your layout. Mine says luck, but I'm sure that counts.

Dirty Dancing Layout

This week at Lasting Memories Layout Challenge, the theme is Broadway.  That's right up my alley, since I've preformed in 8 musicals through elementary and high school.  I have seen numerous plays, musicals, operas, and ballets over the years.

Each year for Christmas, my sister in law and I get tickets for my mom to see a show with us.  For Christmas 2014, we got tickets to Dirty Dancing.  This past Christmas, we got tickets for A Christmas Story: The Musical.

The paper is by Fancy Pants Designs.  I uploaded the Dirty Dancing logo to my new Cricut Explore and cut it out.

Framed Winnie the Pooh

I created this set of framed Winnie the Pooh layouts as a baby shower gift for my husband's cousin.  The baby's room had a Winnie the Pooh theme, so I used the Winnie the Pooh font cricut cartridge and I think these turned out cute.

Boyz II Men Layout

Lasting Memories Layout Challenge is having a 1980's theme for this week.

A couple years ago, my friends and I went to see Boyz II Men at the Tower Theater in Philly.  They were awesome!  We made shirts that said "Boyz II Men" on the front and the name of one of their songs on the back.

I found this fabulous Cosmo Cricket "Boyfriend" paper in my stash and it just screamed 1980's. Between the vivid colors and the cassette tapes and boom boxes on the paper, it was perfect for this challenge.  (I wish these photos showed the colors of the paper better!) Plus, Boyz II Men first came out in the late 80's.

Besties Layout

I have been checking out the challenge blogs this week and I have found some major inspiration.  I am entering this layout into two challenges.

At Scrap it with a Song, the song is "Circle of Life."  I included TONS of circles on this layout, so I'm sure it qualifies.  Side note: I can't get "Circle of Life" out of my head!

I used the sketch from Sketches in Thyme, which happens to have a bunch of circles.

Here's my version.  I scrapped photos of my two best friends and I.  We don't get together often, as I am in Philly and they live in North Jersey and Los Angeles, but it's always so much fun when we are able to catch up!

The background paper is More Mustard by Stampin' Up.  All the patterned paper is Spice Cake, my favorite Stampin' Up paper collection EVER!

A 1970's scrapbook layout

I saw the challenge at Lasting Memories Layout Challenge was the 1970's and I knew exactly what to scrap!  When my friends and I all turned 30, we each chose a theme for our parties and everyone dressed up.  We've had 1920's, 1940's, 1950's, 1970's parties as well as Disney princesses and Alice in Wonderland parties.  For my 30th, I chose a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" theme and we all wore little black dresses and pearls.

Anyway, my friend Sarahanne chose the 1970's for her theme.  I created this layout with photos from the party.

Las Margaritas

I saw this awesome sketch over at the Stuck Challenge Blog.

Here's my take.  I modified the sketch slightly - I preferred the text at the bottom.  Plus, I only had one photo and I needed to extend the photo matting further down so that my diamonds would stand out against the background.  The middle diamond contains my journaling, though it is hard to see.

Las Margaritas is the name of the restaurant that my friends and I went to.  These are some of my very best friends and I loved the "my favorites" sticker.  One of my good friends announced her pregnancy that night, which is why I used the "big news" sticker.

All paper and stickers are from October Afternoon's Woodland Park Collection

Mother's Day Cards

I needed Mother's Day cards for my Mom, Mom-in-law, and grandmother.  I am still trying to use up scraps and I absolutely LOVE this CTMH paper.  I can't remember what it's called.

The sunflower and bucket are CTMH stamps. All text plus the floral on the middle card are Stampin' Up.
