LM 401 - Stash Busting - Paper Stash

This month our theme at Lasting Memories is stash busting.  This week, our challenge is to use at least 5 patterned papers on your layout.  That's an easy challenge for me, since I tend to use a lot of patterns on my layouts.

My husband and I have been doing a lot of home renovations over the last few years.  Our home had a huge holly tree out front that my husband cut down a few years ago.  I took a photo of him with his chainsaw and I don't think I ever saw such a huge smile on his face.  I just had to scrap the photo, plus a before and after of our house.

Close to my Heart's Jack paper line was SO perfect for this layout.  My husband is a redhead with a beard, so the paper and embellishments look like him!  I specifically bought this paper to use with this photo of Mike.

Brad Williams

I loved the colors in this case file at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration.  Yellow and orange aren't colors I normally reach for, so it challenged me a bit.  I found a CTMH paper pack with similar colors, and I  switched out the black in the case file for navy blue.  It's extremely rare for me to use white for my background color, so I chose a gray instead.

For Christmas last year, we gave my father tickets to see Brad Williams at a local comedy club in March.  My father and I have watched his comedy specials on Comedy Central, so this was a perfect gift.  Brad was hilarious and we were able to get a photo with him after the show!

LM 400 - Rub Ons

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is Stash Busting.  This week, our challenge is to use rub-ons.

I had to dig pretty deep into my stash to find some rub ons.  As a rule, I generally don't buy them because I don't really like them.  However, I came across beautiful letter rub ons.  I forgot that I bought them in the dollar bin at Target.

I decided to scrap a photo from a wedding that my husband and I went to this year.  My husband's co-worker had his reception in one of the Boathouse Row houses in Philly, so that was cool.  It was a Cinco de Mayo themed wedding complete with taco bar and LOTS of margaritas.

This layout was a great excuse to use a bunch of cactus die cuts and ephemera that I had lying around.  I have never visited the desert, so I don't know when else I would have the opportunity to use them!

Letter Rub Ons from Target Dollar Bin
Heart Puffy Stickers by SEI
Clear puffy succulent, cactus & heart stickers by Recollections

I am entering this layout in the CSI: Color Stories Inspiration challenge for this month.  I just love these colors!

LM 399 - Stash Busting - Stencils and Texture Paste

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is stash busting.  This week, our challenge is to use stencils and texture paste on your layout.

My baby nephew, Spencer, was born the night before Easter.  My sister in law took the cutest photo of him in his Easter outfit while he was at the hospital.  I absolutely had to scrapbook it, plus it was a great excuse to use my adorable bunny stencil that I just bought!

I definitely stash busted this layout.  All of this is from older collections that I have been hoarding.

A Lovely Wedding

I loved the new case file at CSI Challenge.  These colors are right up my alley.  From the list of evidence, I used: stripes, hearts, bows, stars/starbursts (on invitation), mimic sprinkles on donuts (pink/white hearts background paper).

I thought the colors were similar to the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams Collection.  I used it to scrap photos from my friend's wedding last September.

Supplies:
Hip Kit Club Kits (Feb & March 2017 I think)
Crate Paper Maggie Holmes
Thickers Letters

LM 398 - Stash Busting - Use paints and/or mist

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is stash busting.  This week, we are using paint and/or mist.  I LOVE trying to use items in my stash.  This whole layout is VERY old items!

I don't really have paint in my stash, but I used white gesso to paint a circle on my background.  I also used Heidi Swapp color shine in black and white to make some splatter marks.

This photo is of my BFF and I at her baby shower, in late December.  She lives in Los Angeles, so her parents threw a shower for her while she was home for Christmas.

I am loving all of these vintage baby items from Prima and Crate Paper.  They worked so well together.  She and I both love all things vintage, so it seemed appropriate to use these for this layout.  Plus, the green fireplace in her parent's home (built in the 1800's) matches the leaf color on the background paper perfectly.

Supplies:
Anna Griffin Background Paper
Cosmo Cricket - Tea For Two (Label) paper
White Gesso
SEI Sweet Sora Puffy Sticker Hearts
Prima Heaven Sent Ephemera (deer, baby letters and small bird)
Stampin up bakers twine in island indigo
Crate paper Little Bo Peep Chipboard (clothing on clothes pins and large bird)
Thickers letters
Heidi Swap rotary stamp

June Stick it Down

Here's the June sketch from Stick it Down:

I have been itching to scrapbook the photos from my nephew's birth.  Spencer Alexander was born on March 31st and I am so in love with him!  He is so adorable!  I am honored that my brother and sister in law asked me to be his godmother.

My brother is in the larger photo on the left page, holding Spencer just after he was born.  The large photo on the right page is my 15 year old nephew Justin, holding his little brother.  My husband and I are on the left page and my parents are on the right page.

Crate Paper Little Boy Blue (photo mats, chipboard)
