I used photos from Longport, NJ where my family has a house. They are photos of the 2 gazebos in town and "Lucy the Margate Elephant," a HUGE landmark in the area. You can actually take a tour and walk through the inside of the elephant!
I turned the photos black and white and gave them a white border to make them appear older. It also makes them stand out against the busy background.
I distressed the edges of the red photo mats with a paper edge shredder. I inked the edges of the scalloped circle and the old images from the background papers.
Close up of the journaling and distressing:
Left:
Right:
Checked background paper: GCD Studios
Teal Flourish & Beach town paper by Graphic 45 (Under the Boardwalk collection)
Red polka dot paper by My Mind's Eye
Cricut Plantin Schoolbook & Lacy Labels (Scalloped Circle)
Challenges:
1. The Paper Variety - Inspiration Photo
2. Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
3. ScrapFIT - Put a bird on it (flamingo)
