March Stick it Down

Here's the sketch for March at Stick it Down, designed by yours truly. 

Since it's March, I decided to stick with the Irish theme.  I created a layout using photos from St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland.  We walked around the cathedral on our last day in Ireland in 2007.  Believe it or not, Ireland was hit with a hurricane that day, so the cathedral was closed.  I was sad to not get to see the inside, but glad we were able to walk around the outside.

Calvinball Day 3

I chose a photo of two swans that I took when we were in Ireland in 2007.  I absolutely love this photo and I knew I had to use my favorite paper collection ever, Maggie Holmes Flourish.

LM 468 - Mixed Bag - C.R.I.S.P.

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is "mixed bag."  This week, our challenge is to use something that starts with each of the letters in the word "crisp."  I used these:

C - Chipboard

R - Redhead husband LOL

I - Ice Cream

S - Stars

P - Pink

I chose photos from Murphy's Ice Creamery in Ireland.  I work at an Irish Tavern that's also called Murphy's, so we had to take some photos here.  Plus, the ice cream was delicious!

This month at Lasting Memories, we are having photo inspiration challenges.  Since today is St. Patrick's Day, we are using this image as our inspiration:

For our 10th anniversary, my husband and I went to Ireland in October of 2017.  One of the images in the inspiration photo is of the Temple Bar, so I decided to make a layout about it.  The Temple Bar is an iconic bar in Dublin. My husband and I visited there on our first day in Ireland.

When I saw the sketch, it took me a while to figure out which photo to use.  I ended up choosing photos from my trip to Ireland last year.

After our flights, layovers, renting a car, and checking into our hotel, we had traveled for the better past of a day.  Our first stop was Guinness storehouse in Dublin. After all that traveling, we really needed a beer!

August Stick it Down

Here's this month's sketch (designed by yours truly!) at Stick it Down:

I designed this sketch with these photos in mind.  When I was in Ireland, it rained several days while we were there.  (A hurricane hit too, but that's another story, LOL).  I told my husband I wanted him to take some photos of me with my umbrella because I had a Jolees sticker set I wanted to use.  

When I got home from my trip, these were the first photos I couldn't wait to scrap.  I pulled out my Jolees raincoat, umbrella and galoshes.   They were red and plaid, so it matched my floral sweater perfectly.  I started going through my papers and remembered that I had the Graphic 45 Raining Cats & Dogs collection.  I couldn't have been more thrilled when I realized that my floral sweater was the EXACT colors of the collection.  I couldn't have planned it better if I tried! This layout is one of my favorites in a while.
