Lasting Memories: July GDT - Scrabble

At Lasting Memories Layout Challenges, the theme this month is childhood games.  This week's game is Scrabble.  Here's the inspiration photo:

I was inspired by the Scrabble tiles.  I was going through some of my "My Mind's Eye" collections and came across these "love" scrabble tiles and thought they were perfect.

I had photos from my husband's cousin's wedding from 2014.  It was one of the most fun weddings I have ever attended.  It was at a farm, so the ceremony was outdoors and it was beautiful!  We had so much fun in the outdoor photo booth (with a variety of colored doors for a backdrop).  I just love my husband's family - they're so much fun! The bride and bridal party did a choreographed dance to "Faith" by George Michael (a surprise for the groom - it's his favorite song!)

I had to include a photo of their wedding cake.  I have attended a ton of weddings, but this was my favorite cake EVER!  It was beautiful!  So many of their interests were on the cake, plus I love the cake topper, which was a clay version of them and their two dogs.  SO CUTE!

Lasting Memories: July GDT - Candyland

At Lasting Memories Layout Challenges, the theme this month is childhood games.  This week's game is Candyland.  Here's the inspiration photo:

I was inspired by all the colors.  For some reason, it made me think of a painter's palette and I remembered my photos from "Painting with a Twist" recently.  My mom, sister in law and I went and painted one of my favorite things, peacocks!  We had so much fun!

This peacock paper was PERFECT for this layout!  It's October Afternoon's "Woodland Park" collection.  The letter and journaling stickers are from the same collection.

I used this month's sketch from Stuck?! for the left side of my layout.  I rotated it so that the squares were at the bottom and it was a vertical photo.

Scrap it with a Song DT: July Reveal

I am super excited to be a part of the DT for Scrap it with a Song!  This is my first challenge - I am a part of the Pop team, and our song this month is "7 Years" by Lukas Graham.  (The rock song is "All I Need" by Radiohead.

I used a photo of me from my 30th birthday .  I threw myself a party with a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" theme.  I decorated my house with lots of Tiffany blue.  All of my friends and I wore little black dresses and pearls, sunglasses, gloves, etc.  My sister in law gave me the most gorgeous Tiffany blue shoes to wear!

Lasting Memories: July GDT - Snakes & Ladders

I am super excited to be the July GDT Member for Lasting Memories Layout Challenge.

This month, the theme is "childhood games."  For this week, this photo of snakes and ladders is the inspiration for our projects.

I remember playing this game as a child.  However, I was more inspired by the snakes.  My father has always kept lots of reptiles in the house, and still does to this day.  I mean, at any given time we would have turtles, lizards, tortoises, frogs, and snakes.  I found a photo of my BFF and I holding a Columbian Red Tailed Boa.  The back of this photo says 1998, so we were about 14 years old.

I was inspired by all of the circles in the image, as well as the colors in the photo.  There's plenty of red, yellow and blue in the photo, which was perfect for this layout from my trip to Disneyland in January. All papers from the Simple Stories Say Cheese and Say Cheese 2 Collections

Scrap it with a Song: July DT
