A quick and easy child's birthday card

I was going through some paper scraps and I found this animal border.  Then I took a piece of green paper, used my stripe stamp to give it some texture.  I added the square brads and the oval punches.
Easy peasy!

A Fundraiser

Kim Sherrod, former DT Coordinator for Tuesday Throwdown is hosting a fundraiser for her friend.  This is a fundraiser to help Kim's friend out at this time to help her with expenses so she can see her son. He has a heart problem and it's costly for the trip and it's financially difficult for her to travel. Help us to make it possible for her to spend some time with him. She doesn't think he's going to make it and anything will help to ease her burden during this difficult time.

Please visit Kim's Page for these beautiful stamps.  They are available in digital or clear stamps.

Stampin' Up Tender Toile

I'm very into traditional decor. I love antiques and waverly fabrics. I've always been a huge fan of toile. In my office/scrap room, I have toile curtains and pillows. When I saw this retired Stampin' Up set, Tender Toile on ebay, I had to have it!

This card was so quick and easy to make!  I stamped the rabbit repeatedly and then put the ribbon across, and added the punched our sentiment.  Easy peasy 5 minute card!

Tuesday Throwdown #59

Happy Tuesday! This week at Tuesday Throwdown, our challenge is a "matching set."

I don't have a project to share today because I am having issues with my printer. My color print heads aren't working right and anything I print (in color) has lines and stripes through it. I consulted the sponsor and she would rather have me sit the challenge out than use an image from another company.

Also, we are hosting a DT call at Tuesday Throwdown!
DT Requirements:
You must have a blog.
Create a project every Tuesday using images from that week's sponsor.
Comment on entries ending in your assigned number.

If you're interested, please put create a project using this week's theme (matching set) and write DT after you name in the linky.  Deadline for entering is 6 pm on August 1st.  I will announce the new DT members on August 9th and they will join us for the first time on August 16th!  GOOD LUCK!

Stampin' Up Hello Card

This was a very quick and easy card. I had some scraps from this teal paper, and the bottom corner was so pretty that it didn't need much of anything.  So all I did was stamp the hello & frame around it.

Craft Us Crazy 13

This fortnight at Craft Us Crazy, our challenge is "anything goes."  My DT term is up, so this is my last challenge as a DT member.  Since I have taken over as DT coordinator at Tuesday Throwdown, I just don't have time for 4 DTs.

Here's my graduation layout.  It is the right page that goes next to this one that I did last year.

Tuesday Throwdown #58

This week at Tuesday Throwdown, our challenge is to use something metallic. I had some silver brads lying around, so I put them in the corners of my card. I liked coloring on kraft so much for yesterday's card that I did it again for today's!

This week at Heart Song Inspirations, our challenge is color on kraft or lace.  I've never colored on kraft before, and I thought I would try it out!  I love the way it looks!

Also, there's a new image at the Heart Song Designs shop.  Isn't it adorable?

Lasting Memories 47

This week at Lasting Memories, our challenge is distressing.  I saw a layout kit on embellishonline.com a few months back and I bought the background papers so that I could make a similar one.  So I guess you could call this a "counterfeit kit" and CASE of the layout I saw.

I used photos from Longport, NJ where my family has a house.  They are photos of the 2 gazebos in town and "Lucy the Margate Elephant," a HUGE landmark in the area.  You can actually take a tour and walk through the inside of the elephant!

I turned the photos black and white and gave them a white border to make them appear older.  It also makes them stand out against the busy background.

I distressed the edges of the red photo mats with a paper edge shredder.  I inked the edges of the scalloped circle and the old images from the background papers.

2. Simon Says Stamp - anything goes

Stampin' Up Nature's Nest

I needed a birthday card for my Uncle. He has always had box turtles, so this turtle image was perfect for him.  I love the look of embossing several different pieces of paper together, so I used my Stampin' Up Square Lattice Embossing Folder for this.  I popped up the turtle and sentiment so that they would stand out.

Heart Song Inspirations 6

This week at Heart Song Inspirations, our challenge is no patterned paper or paper piercing.  I was so excited to use Leah's adorable peacock image!
I didn't use any patterned paper.  Instead, I used a Stampin Up small background stamp from the Clearly for You set.

ALSO, there's a DT CALL at Heart Song Inspirations, so please be sure to check it out if you're interested!

Lasting Memories 46

This week at Lasting Memories, our challenge is to create a mosaic layout. This is one of my favorite scrapbooking techniques.  It works best with floral photos, animals, or scenery.  It doesn't work well with people because the begin to look distorted.  I have done several mosaic layouts in the past and I would like to share them all (again) today.

A Thank You for a friend

My friend Katie and I went to a party last weekend.  It was a "school girl" themed party, so we had to dress up.  Katie let me borrow a plaid skirt and some fishnet stockings. I wanted to make a thank you card for her.

Here's some pictures from the party:

I had some pink plaid paper, so it seemed appropriate for this card:
