Lasting Memories Challenge 23

At Lasting Memories this week, we have a sketch challenge. Here's the sketch:

Since I used a sketch, I also entered this layout into Sketches in Thyme's open sketch challenge (you can enter any layout as long as you used a sketch to create it).  I decided to scrap the pictures from New Years Eve.  I took lots of pictures that night, but I didn't want to do a double page spread.  If you visit my blog regularly, you probably know that I like to put LOTS of pictures on every page.  Here's my layout:

It's hard to see the clock in the other pic - it is metallic and hard to photograph.  Here's a closeup:

Mother Son Dance

Here's a layout for my husband's mother son dance.  They danced to Forever Young by Peter Paul and Mary.

I wanted a title wave from Jolees to match the father daughter one on the adjacent page.  But they DON'T MAKE ONE!  What's up with that?  I used my Gypsy and created this headline.  I used lots of stickles on all the letters.

Here's the father daughter one I was trying to replicate.  What do you think?

Blog Hop on Crafter's Digital Art Center

If you're not familiar with CDAC, it's a messageboard for digital stamp enthusiasts.  There's groups for many different digital stamp shops, including my friend Leah's shop, Heart Song Designs

There's a blog hop on CDAC today.  You can hop from group to group, collecting secret phrases and free digis.  Sounds like SO much fun!  I hope you will join in!

Snow Day!

Today was another snow day! We received between 14-16 inches of snow between yesterday and the wee hours of the morning.  I had off from work, so I did a lot of crafting, (mostly for my DT projects, so I won't be posting everything right away).  Here's some photos I took:

My entire front porch covered in snow (and yes, it has a roof!)

Backyard

My car

Daphne hates the snow.  She always looks at me like "Why am I out here?  It's wet!"

Rocky LOVES frolicking in the snow

Rocky tries to decide if he wants to go up the steps

These are the steps on the side of my yard

Father Daughter Dance

Here's my father and I during our dance. We danced to "You are the sunshine of my life" by Stevie Wonder.  About halfway through the dance, my grandfather cut in to dance with me.

I think this is my favorite picture of my father and I. (We look a lot alike, don't we?)

Here's a better picture of the Jolees title wave

New Digi Stamp Shop - Heart Song Designs

My friend and fellow TT DT member Leah (Paper Blossoms) has opened her own digital stamp shop!  She used to design for Sweet & Sassy, but now she had gone out on her own.  She is adopting a son from Ethiopia and is using funds from the sales to help pay for the adoption.

Her images are adorable!  Please take some time to check them out:

Tuesday Throwdown #33

Happy Tuesday! This week at Tuesday Throwdown, our challenge is distressing. Our sponsor is The Stamping Boutique, and I chose this adorable Noah's ark.

I'm not really into distressing. I prefer a cleaner look to my cards.  Plus, I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and I always end up inking the edges over and over to try to make sure they are the same on all sides.

January 2011 Christmas All Year Long

Last year, I started doing a monthly blog hop for Christmas cards.  I participated through July, and then I just didn't have as much time.  This year, I plan to participate every month.

On the 25th of each month, there is a  Christmas card blog hop for the Magnolia-licious yahoo group.  It's great because I will have plenty of Christmas cards ready for this year!

I used this adorable Angel Tilda.  Isn't she sweet?  I get all of my stamps from Magnolia-licious.

If  you want to start at the beginning of the hop, please click HERE.

The next stop  on the hop is Lindsy's blog.

I used this sketch from Sketch Saturday:

Lasting Memories Challenge 22

This week at Lasting Memories, our challenge was to stamp on our layout.

I didn't use any patterned paper on my layout.  I stamped the background on the purple paper.  I also stamped the journaling circle.

I used the sketch at The Paper Variety:

Here's a close-up of the stamped background.  I used my white pen to add the dots. It really adds dimension.  I got the idea from Marushy - she sent me a card with this stamp all over it.

The stamped journaling circle.  I added the white dots around the edges.

I am in love with these hydrangea stickers!  I don't know if you can tell, but they are several layers thick and have sparkles on them!  So pretty in person!
