2017 New Year's Resolutions

I am so glad that I have gotten back into blogging and design teams this year!  I never stopped scrapping, but I love sharing my layouts.

I have a lot of goals for this coming year. Let's hope I am not being too ambitious.

1. Finish the scrapbooks that I started. Vegas/Disney, 2013, 2014, 2015. Lots of layouts are created, but they're missing journaling or headlines.  The scrapbooks also need title pages and some missing layouts.

2. I would like to post 150 pages to my blog this year.  If I participate every week at Lasting Memories, there's at least 52.  And my 6 month term on the double page team at Stick it Down will give me at least 12 more pages.

3. Use my cricut more.  I usually create a ton of layouts and leave them without headlines or other cricut shapes.  So I end up pulling out my cricut a couple times a year and creating a TON of headlines at once to finish up my pages.  Why don't I just finish them when I am in the "zone?"

4. Use my stash!  I have SO much stuff in my craft room!  I am trying to organize everything so that it gets used!

5. Think outside the box and try new things.  I love the look of splatters, glimmer mist, texture paste, stencils, etc.  I have recently gotten some new goodies and I plan to USE THEM!

6. Use the scrapbook visual triangle.  I recently started watching youtube process videos.  I have learned SO much about what makes an awesome scrapbook page.  The main thing that I notice is many mention the visual triangle.  Now I can see it on all the layouts I love.  I will be remembering this in the future.

Scrap it with a Song: December Reveal

This will be my last DT post as part of the SIWAS team.  I have fulfilled my 6 month term and have chosen not to renew.  I decided that 3 DT's was just too much for me.

This month's pop song is Fast Car by Jonas Blue.  December was my month to pick the song and I chose this one since I have always loved Tracey Chapman's song Fast Car.  My initial idea was to scrapbook a photo of my first car, which was a Mustang Convertible.  Sadly, I couldn't find any photos of Mustang Sally - I will need to ask my parents.

So I started really listening to the lyrics of the song.  I started thinking of my road trip in October (to Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Maine).  I loved this line of the song: "City lights lay out before us and your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder."  I decided I had to do a layout for the beautiful lighthouse in Portland, Maine.

I used an old collection from K&Company by Tim Coffey - I can't remember what it's called.

LM 322 - Use one photo

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is "Best of 2016" and we're revisiting some of our most popular challenges from 2016.  This week, we are repeating our "use only 1 photo" challenge from May.

I wanted to scrap one of my very favorite photos from my trip to Disneyland.  My bestie and I talked to one of the cast members at Disney and found out that there's only one time of the day when Mickey and Minnie are together to take photos.  So we made sure to be on Main Street before the start of the parade to get this photo.  It turned out GREAT!

I decided to use it as a 5x7 because I love the photo so much.  This page is a little busier than my pages normally are, but I am happy with how it turned out.
