LM 406 - Transportation - Cars

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is "Transportation."  This week, our challenge is to use cars on your layout.

I didn't think that I had any cars in my stash.  However, when I was looking through my stash, I found the Carta Bella Metropolitan Girl collection had some taxi cabs in it.

One of my BFF's lives in Los Angeles and the other lives in New Jersey and works in New York.  My LA friend was on a business trip in NYC, so I caught the train up from Philly so that the three of us could have dinner.  I stayed in my BFF's hotel room with her.  The next day, she flew home to LA and I spent the day walking around the city and I visited the 9/11 Museum.

Beach Baby

I absolutely loved this month's case at CSI

This week, we took my 3 month old nephew to the beach for the first time.  I had this kit from Embellish It and it was perfect.  The colors of his bathing suit and the whales/fish on his shirt matched perfectly!

LM 405 - All About Me - You Are My Favorite

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is "All About Me."  This week, our challenge is "you are my favorite."  Create a layout documenting your favorite thing(s).

I absolutely LOVE hibiscus - they are my favorite flowers.  Every year, I buy a couple for my backyard.  When I was in the Bahamas in May, I took photos with hibiscuses, so I decided to create a layout with those pictures.

LM 404 - All About Me - Throwback to Your Glory Days

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is "All About Me." This week, our challenge is to scrap a photo of you from your glory days.

I've been meaning to scrap this photo for a while. It's one of my favorite photos of me as a baby. When I was at the scrapbook expo last summer, I bought a phone die cut specifically for this photo.

This photo was taken on Christmas 1984. I was 14 months old and Santa gave me a Fisher Price Phone. I must have loved it, because it is in all the photos from a Christmas and in many others from around this time.

Supplies:
Echo Park Toy Box (paper and stickers)
Echo Park A Boy's Life (paper)
Echo Park Jack & Jill Ephemera (#1 embellishment)
October Afternoon Daily Flash (pink phone sticker)
Paper Wizard Die Cut Phone (from Toy Story set)

Christmas in July - Murder Mystery

Christmas is my favorite thing to scrapbook.  This month, the Paper Issues facebook group is hosting Scrappy Christmas in July.

I have decided to post one Christmas layout per day this week.  Today is day 7, the last day.  If you'd like to see the other 6 layouts, click on the label "Christmas in July" at the bottom of the post.

October Afternoon is my all time favorite scrapbook company.  I have made up a kit with several October Afternoon Christmas collections that I've been hoarding.  That's all I will use in these 7 layouts.

My brother and sister in law invited me to go to a Murder Mystery dinner with them.  The Cock & Bull restaurant in Lahaska, PA hosts murder mysteries all the time and this was the first one I attended.  It was called "A Dickens of a Murder" and it was great.  There were lots of laughs, a great story line and many Christmas Carols sung.

LM 403 - All About Me - Document Your Job

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is "All About Me."  This week, our challenge is to document your job.

I absolutely love my job.  I have been working at Jostens Yearbook Publishing Company since right after I graduated college in 2007.  I started out working with a sales rep and traveling to schools in Delaware and Maryland for 7 years.  For the last 4 years, I have been working from home as past of the VSD.

My team is called the "Virtual Sales Desk" or VSD and my official title is Senior Associate Account Manager.  Since we all work from home, my team only sees each other once a year at the Jostens Annual Business Meeting (ABM) in January.  We took this team photo at ABM last year, which was in Minnesota.  I love my co-workers so much.  We have weekly conference calls and use an instant messenger program for questions and chatting, but I wish that I could see them more than once per year.

My job is different every day, which keeps it interesting.  I assist 4 sales reps that work with more than 500 schools in PA, NJ, MD, DE, NY and NC.  I help with training  and answering questions from yearbook advisers and staffs about our yearbook software, photoshop, photography, graphic design, sales & marketing, and anything else yearbook related.  I help schools to create layouts, proofread pages, track deadlines, send marketing e-mail blasts to parents, and so much more. As a senior member of the VSD team, I help with training other VSA's, taking notes on our weekly team calls, answering questions from teammates, etc.
