LM 380 - Color Me Happy - Blues

This month at Lasting Memories Layout Challenge, we have color challenges this month.  Here's our colors for this week. It's all about the blues!

Last May, my BFF Lauren (who lives in Los Angeles) was on a business trip in NYC.  Our third BFF, Dara, works at a hospital in NYC, so the 3 of us were able to meet up for dinner.  I stayed in Lauren's hotel room that night and the next morning we had brunch and then she flew home.  

Since I had taken the day off of work, I decided to hang out in the big apple for the day.  I have been wanting to go to the 9-11 Museum, so I took the subway and walked through the museum.  I am glad I did it alone, so that I could go at my own pace.  It was incredibly moving and I think they did an incredible job with the museum.  I  highly recommend checking it out.

I loved this buildings paper from Carta Bella's Metropolitan Girl collection.  I struggle to use papers with big scenes on them.  I am really happy with how this one came out.

January Stick it Down Challenge

I can't believe it's January already!  The holidays went fast!  Here's this month's sketch at Stick it Down:

I'm not quite ready to be done scrapbooking the holidays just yet.  In fact, I end up scrapping Christmas all year long, since they are my favorite pages to scrap.  I don't do a December Daily.  I prefer 12x12 size and I don't do something Christmas related every day.  I create an album for each year (chronological) and about half of it ends up being Christmas.

Every year, I host an ugly sweater party at the bar where I work.  This year, I dressed up as a snow woman with a white tutu.  It was really fun!  I love the photo of my parents and I on the left page.

LM 377 - Word Play - Love

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is "word play."  There will be a word each week to use somewhere on your layout.  This week's word is "love."  (You can use love, lovely, loving etc).

I created this page as the title page for my 2017 album.  I absolutely love this photo of my husband and I at a friend's wedding.  We were both wearing burgundy and matched perfectly.  Since I used the color photo on the wedding page, I decided to make it black and white for the title page.  I am really thrilled with how this turned out.

Favorite Layouts of 2017

I have looked back over some of the layouts that I created this year.  Here's my favorites in no particular order.  I love Christmas, and I have more xmas layouts in my album each year than anything else, so it's no surprise that many of these are Christmas layouts.
