December Challenge YOUrself

Here's my DT entry for Challenge YOUrself.  This month, we have an "anything goes" theme.

I created this layout with a photo my husband took a few months ago.  I did a TON of reading during quarantine.  I have been an avid reader since I was a kid and quarantine allowed me to read even more than I usually do.

LM 512 - Special Events - Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa

This month at Lasting Memories, we are creating layouts about special events.  This week, we are creating layouts for Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa.

I created a layout using a photo of my nephew visiting Santa for the first time.  I think this photo is so cute - especially since Mrs. Clause was there too.  He didn't cry, but he looks a bit petrified.  And OMG how cute is his sweater vest?!?

LM 500 - It's a Celebration - Bingo

This week at Lasting Memories, we are celebrating out 500th challenge!  We have a bingo board:

I decided to go right down the middle of the board.  I used chipboard, circles, free space, 5 or more patterned papers and die cuts.

I chose to scrap this photo of Ollie and Santa from Christmas 2018.

LM 492 - FLOWER

This month at Lasting Memories, we are using supplies that start with the letters in spring words.  This week, our word is FLOWER.

I created a layout with photos from The Bellagio Gardens in Las Vegas.  We were there last fall and the theme for their display was "Indian Summer."  It was gorgeous.  There were tons of pumpkins, mums and other fall flowers and leaves.  There were animatronic tigers, foxes, monkeys, elephants, peacocks and other animals.  So cool!

LM 473 - Patterned Paper Prints - Plaid

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is patterned paper prints.  This week, our challenge is to use plaid paper on your layout.

LM 467 - Mixed Bag - Torn Edges

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is "mixed bag."  This week, our challenge is to use torn edges on your layout.

This is one of my favorite techniques.  It is quick and easy and adds dimension to your layout.  I am trying to finish up my Disneyland scrapbook, so I chose these two photos of Woody and Jesse.  This page came together very quickly!

LM 462 - Recipe - 1 banner, 2 photos, 3 or more chipboard elements, and glittery letters

This month at Lasting Memories, we are using recipes.  This week, our challenge is to use 1 banner, 2 photos, 3 or more chipboard elements and gilttery letters or embellishments.  

I used the recipe to create the left page of a double page layout.  I'll share the right page here too.  This is from Christmas morning 2017.

November Stick it Down

Here's this month's sketch from Stick it Down.  Guess what?!?  It was designed by ME!

I wanted to use LOTS of leaves on this layout, so I chose photos from last Thanksgiving.  I was able to try out my new Stampin' Up leaf stamps and die cuts.  I was also able to use up some leaves from my stash.  I love fall, so I have tons of rhinestones, buttons, sequins etc. in leaf shapes.

My husband and I host Thanksgiving each year.  We invite both sets of our parents, as well as our brothers and my nephew.  I am so thankful that we are able to see so much of our family each year.
