LM 393 - Variety of Shapes - Stars

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is "variety of shapes."  This week's challenge is to use stars.

I had photos from the Hollywood Walk of Fame, so they were perfect for a layout full of stars.  My BFF lives in Los Angeles, so I have visited her several times.  We spent a day walking around the city and I took photos of some of the stars.  I didn't realize that there's a huge silver statue at the beginning of the walk of fame.  It was just getting dark, and I love how my photo came out, so I used it as a dominant photo on my layout.

Supplies:
Paper and some stars by Pink Paislee Paige Evans Turn the Page Collection (I cut some out of the paper)
Gold Glitter Thickers
Paper House Production Stickers (walk of fame word and statue sticker)
Doodlebug Blue & White Star Stickers
Jolees Stickers (stars)

LM 392 - Use only 6x6 papers

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is "All About the Paper" and this week's challenge is to use at least only 6x6 papers.

I LOVE 6x6 PAPERS!  I use them all the time.  I love the smaller scale of the 6x6 pads.  If I like a scrapbook collection, I buy the 6x6, chipboard and ephemera.  Sometimes I don't even buy 12x12 papers, lol.

I use 6x6 papers to mat photos, for layering, to cut up for backing cut files, etc.  I also use them to create backgrounds, as I did in this layout.

I used photos from my friend's daughter's 6th birthday.

LM 391 - Use at least 4 different papers

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is "All About the Paper" and this week's challenge is to use at least 4 different papers.

I had these photos of my dad's 63rd birthday.  These photos are the last photos I have of my grandfather before he passed.  I love the photo on the left of my dad with his brother, sister and his father.

LM 390 - Make Your Own Background

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is "all about paper."  This week, our challenge is to create your own background paper.

I got a white sheet of cardstock, covered it with white gesso and went to town with my sprays.  I used the packaging technique, then dripped additional splatters.

I have TONS of project life cards and I never use them.  I saw a layout on pinterest that used 6 cards similarly to how I did.  I really like this, and I definitely think I will be doing this again.

These photos are from my friend's birthday a couple months ago.  We went to a Mexican restaurant called Lucha Cartel in downtown Philly.  The food was delicious and after dinner, they move the tables against the walls and turn the space into a dance club.  It was SOOOO fun!

Supplies:
Simple Stories Project Life Cards and embellishments
Gold thickers
White Gesso
Heidi Swapp Gold texture paste and plus sign stencil (not sure where it's from)

April Stick it Down

HAPPY EASTER!  Here's our awesome sketch for this month at Stick it Down

I really loved this month's sketch.  I have been really digging triangles recently.

I had some photos of my work BFF and I.  We work remotely and she lives in Minnesota.  She came to visit me last summer and we spent the weekend at my parent's beach house in Longport, NJ.  I took Kristin to see "Lucy the Margate Elephant."  It's a landmark that was once a hotel (for more info visit http://www.lucytheelephant.org/).

I got the awesome vintage postcard that you see on the left side of the layout.  I chose to stick to the colors from the postcard.  My photos had such bright colors in them, and they clashed, so I decided to turn them black and white. I am so glad I did, because it gives the pages a vintage feel.  I am thrilled with how it turned out.
