Craft Us Crazy 11

This fortnight at Craft Us Crazy, our challenge is red, white, and blue.  I had some photos from last Fourth of July that I was really excited to scrap.

My husband's best friend has the cutest daughter, Alana.  She turned 1 on July 3rd.  We went to the baby parade that morning, then we went to her birthday party.

Lasting Memories 43

This week at Lasting Memories, we have an inspiration challenge.  Here is the photo:

I don't have any father's day photos to scrap, but I chose to use the colors brown, green, blue, and yellow which I pulled from the inspiration.

This layout is from the day we bought our house.  We were SO excited!  And yes, I HAD to make the title rhyme, LOL.

A Crossword Father's Day Card

I always want to do something extra special for my dad on father's day.  He's such a unique person.  He's a police officer.  He loves cars, and can tell you the year, make, and model of anything that drives past.  He loves animals of ALL kinds.  Growing up, we had SO many pets!  Cats, rabbits, hampsters, a ferret, hedgehogs, turtles, snakes, alligators, lizards, you name it.  He also LOVES crossword puzzles.

Since I usually give him cards with reptiles on them, I decided to make him a crossword card this year.  I googled crossword puzzles and counted out the squares until I found one where I could fit "Happy Father's Day" in it.

Better late than never... Lasting Memories 42

Ok, I'm a few days late with this challenge.   Last was a busy week, since it was the last week of school and therefore my last week of work before summer vacation.  My husband is away for his two weeks at the National Guard.  I had a Stampin' Up party at my house on Saturday, so I was cleaning all week in preparation.  Saturday evening after the party, I found out that my great aunt passed away from a massive stroke.  Needless to say, with all of this going on, I didn't find time to create my layout.

Here's the cards we made at my Stampin' Up party.  Claire was our lovely demonstrator. The party was a huge success and I received LOTS of free products (and I purchased stuff on top of that).  I can't wait to play with all my new stuff!

And now onto my Lasting Memories DT project.  Our challenge is to create a background using punches.  I have tons of border punches, but not many shape punches.  I realized that I had TONS of Christmas punches that would work well together, so this is what I came up with.

This fortnight, our challenge at Craft Us Crazy is father's day and/or masculine. I chose to make another card with Stampin' Up's The Open Sea.  I'm really loving it, plus my father in law and grandfather in law were in the Navy, so it works perfectly.

For Father

I needed a father's day card for my husband from the dogs.  I used SU For Father, and colored it to look like our boxer, Rocky. He has actually laid just like the stamped image, with his head on Mike's work boots.

Heart Song Designs is back and hosting weekly Monday challenges. This week, the challenge is anything goes.

With so many of my friends having babies, I chose this birds nest image.  The sentiment says "A little birdie told me..."  Inside, it says "...that you're having a baby!"
