November Stick it Down Challenge

I am trying to finish up my 2016 scrapbook.  This sketch worked perfectly with some photos from Christmas morning.  Plus, I have been dying to break into my new Crate Paper Falala Collection goodies!  Here's my take on the sketch:

LM 367 - Around the House - Stamp with something other than a stamp

This month at Lasting Memories Layout Challenge, our theme is Around the House.  This week's challenge is to stamp with something other than a stamp.

A couple months ago, I saw a layout where someone used a toy car to stamp on a layout. Unfortunately, I can't remember who did it, so I can't give proper credit.

I had the cutest pictures of my nephew at the beach several years ago (he's 14 now).  At the scrapbook convention, I found the CUTEST truck papers by AdornIt, and I had to buy them to go with the photos.  My nephew called ALL of his trucks "Digger Dan" so that HAD to be the title for this page!

I borrowed a truck from my friend's son and used it to stamp on the layout.  I absolutely LOVE how this layout turned out!

I apologize in advance for the long post.  My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary this month.  We spent all of last week in Ireland.  I wanted to share some of my favorite photos from our trip.  I took over 1200 photos and I don't know how I will decide which ones to scrap!

LM 365 - Around the House - Children's Art or Book

This month at Lasting Memories Layout Challenge, our theme is "Around the House."  This week, our challenge is to use children's artwork/journaling on your page or be inspired by a children's book.
I don't have children, so I don't have any children's artwork to scrap.  However, my friend's baby shower in July had a book theme and her baby's room is Eric Carle themed.  I loved the shower invitation, so I included it on my page.

When I was at the scrapbook convention in July, I found these adorable plastic caterpillars from Eric Carle.  I think someone made them with shrinky dink - they just came in a plastic sleeve, without a brand name.  You may remember the card I made for this showed.  I used another one of these caterpillars on the card:

LM 363 - All About Patterns - Chevron

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is "all about patterns."  This week, our challenge is to use chevrons on your layout.

I found this gorgeous chevron background paper in my stash.  I think it came in one of my Hip Kit Club kits.  My family and I took some photos at the beach a couple weeks ago and they worked well with these colors.  My dad's shirt and my shorts were the same color as the background paper.

LM 326 - All About Patterns - Plaid

This month at Lasting Memories, our theme is "all about patterns."  Our challenge this week is to use plaid on your layout.

Plaid always makes me think of Christmas.  I went through my xmas photos from last year and found this one of my BFF and I.  She lives in Los Angeles, but her parents still live a couple blocks from me in Philadelphia.  Believe it or not, her name is Lauren too, and we have been BFF's since kindergarten.  Lauren comes home every Christmas and she hosts an annual "Boxing Day Brunch" at her parents house. Boxing Day is a British holiday, celebrated on December 26th.  Lauren has worked with British companies for years and has adopted the holiday.  We have a pot luck brunch and do a white elephant pollyanna.

The background paper & gold strip were metallic, so it was hard to get a great photo of this layout, but I think you get the jist.

LM 361 - All about patterns - florals

This month at Lasting Memories Layout Challenge, our theme is "all about pattern."  This week's challenge is to use floral paper on your layout.

I use florals often in my layouts.  I wanted to create a layout about doing the breast cancer walk.  My mother in law was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.  She had a double mastectomy in November of 2015 and she lived with us for 6 weeks while she was recuperating.  She has been through chemo and radiation since then and is currently in remission.

On mother's day, my husband and his brother did the Breast Cancer walk with their mom.  Many of their aunts, uncles and cousins walked too.

This month at Lasting Memories is all about patterned paper.  Our challenge this week is to use stripes on your layout.

I had some adorable photos of my friend's baby.  This was the day I first met him.  Isn't he the cutest? He is Charles the 5th, so we all call him C5.
