Tuesday Throwdown #3

It's Tuesday, so that means it's time for another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown.  The challenge was a nautical/water theme.  I've been meaning to scrap these pictures of the dogs at the beach for a while, so this was the perfect opportunity.

I am making an 8x8 doggie scrapbook for my mother in law, so that she can have some pictures of her "grandpuppies."  She helps us out so much with the dogs.  She even comes over to walk them on days that my husband and I are both at work. 

Paper: I was using up some scraps left over from my Hawaii album.  The tan & blue paper is Miss Elizabeth's.  I am not sure about the polka dot paper (it may be by My Mind's Eye).

Ok, a while back, I posted my entire Oahu honeymoon album. I finally finished my Big Island of Hawaii honeymoon album. So here it is, in its entirety. I used Life's a Beach Cricut Cartridge for all the font & other cuts that you see here.

Grandmom's Angels

My mother-in-law loved the baby picture frames I did for the shower. She asked me to make one for her with her grandpuppies in it. Here's what I came up with. (Her apartment is tropical themed - palm trees everywhere. So I decided to stick with that theme and I used pictures of the dogs at the beach and in their baby pool).

I used Life's a Beach to create the lighthouse. I used the DCWV pet stack for the paper. And I absolutely LOVE these argyle stamps from the studio G father's day collection.

Here is another Father's Day card I just made. It doesn't follow the sketch or apply to the challenges.

My husband's grandfather was in the Navy, so I thought the boat and anchor were appropriate.

The inside of card 2:

The boat and anchor were from Life's a Beach. Again, I used the fabulous Studio G father's day stamps and the DCWV pet stack.

Christmas Stamping All Year Long Challenge #17

This week, Christmas Stampin' All Year Long's challenge was a color challenge. We had to create a card using sage, apricot, and chocolate. I really had to think outside the box for this one. I looked through my paper collection and saw this beautiful hawaiian print. I recently bought a penquin hula girl stamp and I thought that this would be the perfect time to try it out. Here's what I came up with:
Mele Kalikimaka means Merry Christmas in Hawaiian. My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Hawaii, so this card seemed appropriate.

I used an Imaninisce stamp, DCWV travel stack (sand), Cricut Life's a Beach cartridge, and rhinestones.


****UPDATE 6/1******

I decided that this card wasn't "Christmassy" enough. So I added a santa hat to the penguin;s head and christmas lights to the palm tree. I think it looks much better. What do you think?

I find it odd that the fire trucks in Hawaii were yellow and not red.


The titles are a little hard to read in these photos, but they were cut with Life's a Beach.
