This week at
Lasting Memories, our challenge is distressing. I saw a layout kit on
embellishonline.com a few months back and I bought the background papers so that I could make a similar one. So I guess you could call this a "counterfeit kit" and CASE of the layout I saw.
I used photos from Longport, NJ where my family has a house. They are photos of the 2 gazebos in town and "Lucy the Margate Elephant," a HUGE landmark in the area. You can actually take a tour and walk through the inside of the elephant!
I turned the photos black and white and gave them a white border to make them appear older. It also makes them stand out against the busy background.
I distressed the edges of the red photo mats with a paper edge shredder. I inked the edges of the scalloped circle and the old images from the background papers.
